If you are planning to travel outside the UK, it is important that you check whether you require any vaccinations, medications or health advice before you go.
We recommend that you contact the practice at least 6–8 weeks before your travel date to allow enough time for assessment, vaccinations and prescriptions if required.
What you need to do
All patients must complete a travel health questionnaire before we can offer advice or book an appointment. This helps the clinical team assess your individual needs based on:
- Your destination(s)
- Length of stay
- Type of accommodation
- Planned activities
- Your medical history
Once your form has been reviewed, we will advise:
- Whether an appointment is needed
- Which vaccinations (if any) are required or recommended
- If malaria tablets or other medication are necessary
Please note: Not all travel vaccinations are available on the NHS. Some may need to be provided privately and will incur a fee.
Important Information
- We are unable to give travel advice without a completed questionnaire
- Late requests may not be accommodated
- Protection may require multiple doses over several weeks
