Do you think you could work with your practice to provide practical support, to help patients take more responsibility for their own health and to provide strategic input and advice?
Your experience matters. You could bring different ideas to the surgery to enable us to improve our services and care for all our patients.
Our PPG
Our Patient Participation group, known as the PPG, is a group of patients who meet every 3 months with the practice to improve patient services and to provide the patients’ perspective.
What does our PPG provide?
Our PPG enables practice staff and patients the opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest in their own practice.
It is a forum for patients and staff to improve and develop services within the practice.
Our PPG provides an opportunity for patients to make positive and constructive suggestions/ideas about the practice and specific medical conditions as an ‘expert’ or ‘experienced patient’.
It is also encourages health education activities within the practice.
Will my ideas be heard?
Your views are important to us and will be listened to by the practice. However, not all suggestions can be acted upon, but all feedback and suggestions are very important to us at the surgery.
Terms of reference
This PPG will:
- Contribute to practice decision-making and consult on service development and provision,
- Provide feedback on patients’ needs, concerns and interests,
- Challenge the practice constructively whenever necessary,
- Communicate information about the community which may affect health care,
- Give patients a voice in the organisation of their care,
- Promote good health and high levels of health literacy by encouraging and supporting activities within the practice and promoting preventive medicine,
- Influence the provision of secondary health care and social care locally,
- Give feedback to NHS trusts on consultations
- Liaise with other PPG’s in the area

To be part of our PPG – you must be able to use a computer and communicate by email as this is where most communication and information is shared between the practice and members.
You must also be a registered patient with Dr virmani and Dr Bedi’s Surgery.
The information you supply us will be used lawfully, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to know what information is held about you and sets out rules to make sure that this information is handled properly.
