👥 When Can I Have a Chaperone?
You can request a chaperone at any stage of your appointment, including:
-
- During intimate examinations
-
- If you feel uncomfortable for any reason
-
- Regardless of the gender of the clinician
We will always offer a chaperone if a procedure involves intimate or sensitive areas.
🧑⚕️ Who Acts as a Chaperone?
Chaperones are trained clinical or non-clinical staff who understand their role and responsibilities, including:
-
- Maintaining patient confidentiality
-
- Recognising unacceptable behaviour
-
- Providing support without interfering in clinical judgment
🗣️ How Do I Request One?
-
- Simply let the receptionist, nurse, or doctor know you would like a chaperone.
-
- You can request a chaperone before or during your consultation.
-
- In rare cases, your appointment may be rescheduled if a chaperone is not immediately available.
